The islands around the route
The compass often points toward the waters around Poda Island, Chicken Island, Koh Si and Ya Wa Sam. These islands sit among the dramatic limestone formations that define the coast near Ao Nang and Railay.
Exact stops change with tide, weather, water clarity and National Park operating conditions. That flexibility is part of the experience, not a missing itinerary.
Why Bamboo avoids a fixed checklist
A famous beach can be beautiful and still be the wrong place at the wrong hour. Crowds, wind or low visibility can turn a compulsory stop into wasted time.
The captain looks for calmer anchorages and useful water. Guests still see the landscape of the Four Islands area without being marched through the same timetable as every speedboat.
What happens at each stop
Depending on conditions, stops are used for snorkeling, swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking. Guests can also remain on the boat and use the decks as a floating beach club.
There is no obligation to do every activity. The afternoon is designed to work equally well for active swimmers and guests who would rather stay dry with a drink and the view.
From islands to sunset
The day shifts pace as golden hour arrives. A Thai buffet is served on deck while the route turns toward the strongest available sunset view.
After dark, the final swim looks for bioluminescent plankton before the boat returns to Ao Nang.
